SOFIE present at IEEE WoWMoM 2019

SOFIE was present at the IEEE International Symposium on a World of Wireless, Mobile and Multimedia Networks (IEEE WoWMoM 2019), which took place 10-12 June 2019 in Washington DC, USA.
At the symposium Vasilios Siris presented the paper entitled “Trusted D2D-based IoT resource access using smart contracts”, which contained recent results on alternatives allowing clients to access IoT resources using secure and trusted device-to-device (D2D) communication, while utilizing smart contracts to obtain the benefits of blockchain technology. These benefits include decentralized trust, immutability, transparency, and high availability.

Also, at the Internet of Things - Smart Objects and Services (IoT-SoS) workshop which took place alongside IEEE WoWMoM 2019, Vasilios Siris presented the paper entitled “Secure IoT access at scale using blockchains and smart contracts”, which investigated the application of blockchain technology to provide to implement a large-scale event-based IoT control system with resilience and high availability.
